Well, the good news is that both my bridged Carver M500t's are fine. The bad news is that one of my Infinity SM 152 loudspeakers appears damaged. I was running the system hard when the one side shut down. Once things cooled down I eventually isolated the problem after swapping the speakers, cables, amps etc.
The "challenged" speaker can handle a fair amount of power (ie.25%) before shutting down the power amp in protection.
The crossover appears fine. Should I replace the caps and coils?
Any help/idea is greatly appreciated.
Dave

Caps and coils are usually pretty tough, resistors can burn out if undersized. Coils can overheat if way undersized. Caps can be melted or damaged by heat from other components. I melted a mylar cap with a soldering iron once 😉
If there is something wrong with the crossover enough to trip a protection circuit, you should be able to hear the difference between the two speakers and get an idea of where to start.
Pull out the crossovers and look at them. look for char or melted components. Look at the drivers for distorted cones or any strange discoloration or smell. Measure the drivers DC resistance and compare between the two speakers...
