This A/V receiver switches off immediately after power up. Using internal diag. i get "PS PRT 021 C" which means it detects an out of spec voltage in the power supply section. If I plug into a variac and turn down input voltage to 113vac then it will power up and operate normally. Plugged into wall AC at 122vac it will shut down immediately.

Do you have the U, C, or R version? Has it worked ok before in the same location?

I am not sure. It does not belong to me. I will look on the back for model and post. I believe that it has worked ok in the same town on same grid voltage. What is the significance of U,Cor R. Diff country versions?

Yes, that's right. It might be set up for 110V.
It is U,C which is USA, CANADA. I may have found the problem. Digital 5vdc is dropping out at higher input voltage. This coincides with the fault appearing on the display. Anyway will be changing out 7805 and output cap and retest.
