Guys, any help with interpreting this modelling data for the two drivers, please. I have set the boxes to the smallest I think I can get away with for each driver and f3 below 30hz and set input signal to driver wrms rating. Will be running stereo subs, so building two identical units. The ZXi8.2 shows way higher SPL, but I don't know if that is showing good clean output or distress. If it really is showing a massive improvement over the SLC8 then that what I will build. If in simulation, it's showing that the difference is not significant and drivers are not stressed then I would prefer to build the smaller boxed SLC8
I would like to try to understand the simulation results if anyone would have the time to take me through it. Thanks and regards
Randy

Dark trace is SLC8. I can draw a pretty line and make a pretty box, but honestly I don't know how to interpret this modelling data to know how much more prodigious clean output will I get with the larger and more expensive ZXi8.2 boxes. Hope I have entered the ZXi8.2 coil data correctly

I have gone pouring over these and trying to judge the sims, but still can't really read the results with confidence. I think I will go with the ZXi8.2Ds and try to absorb the expense elsewhere. I have a pair of 7 inch sub drivers that don't know the parameters on, but they come with 140wrms amps in a similar box size to my targets. I'll try them out in test boxes of 18L with 34hz port and see how they go first. Will at least let me judge just how much more output I need
Forum code seems not to accept WinISD files, I'll zip them

The ZXi8.2 shows way higher SPL, in fact a single ZXi8.2 with 600 W seems to outperform two SLC8 cabinets with 200 W each.
Looking at cone excursion both drivers are well within their Xmax in the intended frequency range, the ZXi8.2 goes beyond Xmax below 28 Hz and thus could use a high pass when driven with full power, the SLC8 doesn't need a high pass.
Looking at rear port air velocity, the ZXi8.2 has a decent sized port, the SLC8 has an oversized port (and thus could be made smaller).

You can't imagine how this helps me create a mental baseline. Your review of the results sets that mark that I can now mess around with and compare with other drivers if needed. I think I'll stick with the ZXi8.2. I will make the cabinets for the stereo pair and use them as stands for the main. I keep thinking how I can go away from the boxy speaker look. Again, the body that I enjoy setting into motion with my bass playing wins. Please have a look at my profile pic. The cab I am going to build is also going to be a tribute to her. I will do your assistance great justice and make it worth your time for getting involved
Massive thanks and regards
