Hey guys, I have two big Sowter output transformers but I'm not sure about the wiring. They are 4k a-a pp 40% tapped transformers with a number 4604 on them. I have searched then internet but can't find anything about them.
The primaries are clear but the secondaries consist of four pairs of black and white wires and four pairs of red and green wires. Both pairs are numbered 1 to 4. I'm not sure how to wire them. I can start measuring impedances but any help would be great!

An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.
Why not just contact Sowter directly? They're still around and noted for being helpful.

In the one that I have, Sowter use 4 identical independent secondaries that you combine to suit the speaker impedance. There’s all the info you need about this on their website. I believe these are really nice transformers, except yours ain’t listed! They have a 4603 from their pro audio line which I think is a 1:1 with multiple windings, perhaps you have something similar but is a custom unit.

Sowter will do whatever the customer asks for. Somebody asked for a non-standard secondary arrangement. If you are the customer you should know what you asked for. If someone else was the original customer then Sowter may or may not still have records of what they built. Ask them; give as much information as possible.
