Nobody can answer your question without some basic information.
What is the size of the transformer?
What is the weight?
There should be some markings on the top of the transformer. A photo of the top would be helpful.
I'm thinking that this might be stolen property. One does not own a McIntosh audio transformer without knowing anything about it.

There is no numbers/ wording on the transformer but the box of the transformer labelled as M316-B.
The item is not stolen. The original owner passed away recently and the item is sold by his son. My friend is a antique hi fi dealer. The uncle was a proud owner of MC 2255 and MC 275. These amp drove a Tannoy Westminister !
