Hello,
I've recently acquired a "Daven Co." attenuator. Now I've noticed there are a lot of people on these forums that really know these old parts.
What is/was this used for? Is it worth anything? Since the "ORDER NO" is on the part, it was likely designed for a specific customer. There's not much information searching via google. I've come to the conclusion it was used in the army for something.
Any ideas?

Yes, in this case as test equipment. Put it on eBay. Daven rotary stepped attenuators are well regarded.
It depends....that particular unit seems to have a narrow range. Looks like it might do 0-30dB.
It was used to test military field telephones in an earlier life.
I would say it is somewhat salable but don't expect to retire on it!
