Hi! I have been into making a diy-projector for a while.. I ordered fresnel lenses, I stripped a digital camera's LCD, I researched on using LED's as the light source.... until I got a FREE projector!!! that's right! a FREE Projector! It's an Eiki LC-150... the thing is.... it doesnt work!
I tried to fire it up many...MANY times... and it did! I was worried the bulb was the problem but I guess it's not... It worked fine for months!
untill the day came....It would just stop! just like that! so i tried opening it but im no electrician... so Im hoping you guys out there that are experts in electronics could bless me with brotherly advice. This has now become Diy-repair your projector. pls pls pls! help!
I dont know how to diagnose this projector so pls help me.
my observations about the projector:
all fans, LED indicators work.
the bulb work fine when it fires up. (until I cant make it anymore)
the thing fires up but it just gives me a spark.
there's a part that lookes like two glass nipples that spark when I try to fire up the lamp. (see pic)
It's kinda jiggly and I tried soldering it, It was still jiggly.
I am worried that this may not be the source of the problem and something else has to be replaced.
pls share your speculations on what the problem mught be.
pls help me figure this out. thanks!!!!

it's easier to help when we have some pictures of what you are talking about. you said nipples and an image popped in my head which had nothing to do with projectors, and i can't get that picture out of my mind.
