I need Help with my Philips black Tulip turntable it is sounding distorted what is the correct value for tracking force and antiskate? How do I find it out?
The turntable is Philips AF-829 with Philips 412 cartridge.

The turntable is Philips AF-829 with Philips 412 cartridge.
First clean the stylus carefully. Level the turntable using a level placed on the bare platter surface.
Set the tracking force and skating to zero. Check if the tone arm is neutrally balanced.
If not, adjust the counterweight and zero setting until it is.
Now set the tracking force to 1.5g. Set the antiskating to about 1g.
If there is still distortion, the stylus may be worn or damaged.
