hello to all! i have a big trouble with my speaker system.
please help me to understand my wiring error!
i have two 8 ohm speaker plugged trough jack cables.
sometimes i need to play only with one(8 ohm),
sometimes with two speakers(16 ohm).
for this i used two jack connectors with switch.
this switch breaks the jack tip connection when
a jack is plugged on!
i make a scheme:😕

Thanks allen....no it does not play at all.
also the speakers has same specs....
i cannot understand...it looks like both speaker B
hot and cold are lined together to (-)from amp...

If the speakers are really in series then both must make a sound. If not, is there a short in one of your connectors that connects across the broken speaker?
Are you sure you don't have 2 and 3 terminals switched around in the speaker B connector?
I was going to say it wouldn't work, but it should unless you have made a wiring error.

Finally maybe i find the mistake :
The speaker A shield connector is
connected with the iron chassis....
then the speaker A cold is not
connected with speaker B hot in
a series kinda connection ...but
since speaker A cold goes to
the (-)from amp because of
its shield is in contact with
speaker B shield that goes to
the (-)from amp...than the
speaker B hot that is in
contact with speaker A for
the series lining...goes to
the (-) from amp..instead !
Than the speaker A plays...
the speaker B not !i think it is so...or not????

In your wiring diagram of speakers A & B and amp, you indicate that plugging in speaker B disconnects terminals 1 and 3 of the jack for speaker B. This does not agree with the side view of the jack which shows the switch of the jack connecting/ disconnecting terminals 2 & 3.
Connect (solder) a wire from the shield, terminal 1, to the switch, terminal 3. Then when you insert the plug for speaker B, terminals 2 and 1 are disconnected.

seems like the chassis is shorting the pin 1s together, the socket for speaker A needs to be isolated from ground....
Pete....yes i have found the mistake
The chassis short the connection
between the two speaker shield
because it is an iron chassis!
Since i made two circuit for
two mono amp...i fixed one
of them and it function...
With the other i have to
do the same...but it was
an insulation problem.
bye to all and thanks.
