Hi, I'm from Colorado Springs. I'm interested in building a guitar tube amp. I've always been an acoustic guitar player. I played around with electric and even got one of those Digitech pedals with 40 different amp sounds.
My interest in a tube amp comes from discovering that most of those digitized sounds originated from a tube amp. I thought, why not go to the source? Thus my desire to build an amp. I also realized that the digital sound 'quit' at a certain point when bending a string. It just 'dropped out'! I don't think a tube amp would lose the tone like that.
I'm good with soldering, schematics, wiring etc. I've lurked for a while before joining. This board is a great resource. Good people and an electronic brain trust!
I'd like to document the amp build here once I get started.
