After seeing the reviews of the Douk A5 I am trying to run 1x technics 1210 turntable 2x bose 301 speakers. Having to turn the volume up all the way on the amp to get any decent level of sound out of it and to be honest at the moment I am not impressed. Also the hiss is terrible. I have also hooked it up with some old wharfedale modus cube satellite speakers have the same result. Question is am I asking too much of this little amp or doing something wrong.
What voltage power supply did it come with? Some supply with a 32v PS and others with a 48v PS which is the max voltage the 3255 can take. Even with a 32v PS you should get decent volume at 12 Oclock on the volume control and without hiss. Take a pic of how you have wired it up and confirm the voltage of the power supply that came with it. Are you using a phono stage to increase the output into the amp, if not the signal from the TT will be really weak.
Are you actually using external phono preamplifier? If not, it would explain low signal level and too much hiss. After seeing the reviews of the Douk A5 I am trying to run 1x technics 1210 turntable 2x bose 301 speakers. Nothing wrong with amp, it expects line level signal. Not phono.
Thanks @adason and @Puffin I have seen the light!! I have an old Vestax PMC 17A mixer with a pre amp in it. I am assuming the amp would be ok with this?
