My name is Alan and I am a n00b tinkerer. Tubesplain to me, please .... I insist! I currently live in Alabama. I have been using Meitner solid state gear. I recently restored a pair of Fisher XP-16 speakers. Now I am getting acquainted with a Dynaco ST-70 that has passed through a few hand before mine.

Howdy Alan, Welcome. Tubesplain 🤣
Dynaco ST-70 is a both a darling and a beast. Probably not the best "first project" for a "noob", but there are a ton of lovers and helpers here- What are you looking to do, and what is your experience level with electronics and vacuum tubes?

Well, I have been a member reading the posts for about 10 years. An old roommate of mine is in the forums here and got me onboard. He had a Dynaco (now he has several) that I enjoyed when we lives together years agoi and I decided last year to up my game to a tube system. I've hunted high and low and came across an ST-70 that looked right for me. It sounded great, I bought it and then I looked under the hood. Now I have questions ... lots of questions. I'll explain and put some photos in my first post.
Yep- post in the Tubes/Valves forum. Please be sure to include lots of pictures- We don't get out much, and really really like pictures!
