Hi Mike - and Welcome to diyAudio!!! 😀😀😀
Are you up to speed electronics wise - or are you just getting a start with things?

Well Mike you can take the amplifiers to me; I do repairs. I am in the Valley.
Otherwise I can advise you how to do it yourself.

c2thomas: i'm a musician who has decided that i'd better learn to repair what i can on all of my amps. if it is fairly simple, i can do it. i've replaced transformers and electrolytic caps, but don't even really know how to test to find the bad parts.
right now, i'm trying to repair a gibson ga5t, that i've already replaced the electrolytic multi-cap with individual caps. but now i realize it is in the tremolo circuit.
thanks again,
mikeB.

bob:
thanks, i appreciate that.
i'm a musician who has decided i'd better learn how to repair my amps to the best of my ability, which at this point, is fairly limited.
i'm presently trying to repair a gibson ga5t tremolo circuit that i believe may be due to a bad .047 cap. it makes a "spikey" sound when i hit the strings of the guitar fairly hard. so it sounds like too much current is flowing through.
where are you located. i'm in moorpark in ventura county.
thanks,
mikeB.
I am in the SFV near the 405 about halfway between the 101 and the 118 freeways. If you want to continue along these lines it's probably best to do it in private messages.
