Hello everyone,

I've been lurking on this site for about 6 months and finally decided it was time to register. This site has inspired me to get into DIY after fooling around with audio for almost 20 years. I'm currently working on a 5687 tube pre-amp, and I'm getting ready to build my first set of speakers and a chipamp.

Although I know what a preamp and a tube is, I haven't got a clue what's special on a '5687'. Nevermind as long as it sounds good. 😉

You should post something in the tubes forum... Dhaen will be very pleased to see your projects.

Welcome... what had you in mind for speakers?

And with the ltest BrianGT/Peter Daniel effort we should be soon hearing a large sample set of feedback on chip amps.

I just completed the 5687 preamp at 2:00am last night, so it's just starting to get some burn-in this morning. No smoke or flames, so a success so far for my first project. I'll post impressions and photos when I get a chance.

I've ordered the chipamp kit from Brian, and am starting to buy the materials to build the Wayne J. U-Pees.
