Hello,
My name is John Bartley and I am from Stittsville in Ontario Canada. I have been registered and just lurking here for some time now. My interest in electronics is mostly antique radios, but early in my teens I built a few Heath kits and I still like to putz around with some home brew "stuff" 🙂
I am slowly gathering the bits for a pair of basic audio amps, preamps and a power supply. I would also like to build my own turntable to go along with them, although at the speed I work, I wouldn't advise anyone to hold their breath waiting to see the results 🙂.
My other hobbies are LF (large format) photography and recreational flying althought the flying has been put on hold for a couple of years while I deal with the business of living (planning a house to build right now)
I have been reading the "tubes" and "analogue" forums and I am very impressed with the creativity and attention to fetail that is shown as well as the willingness to experiment that the members show. There's nothing I enjoy more than breadboarding a circuit "just to see" 🙂.
Anyway, I'll go back to lurking now.
cheers

Don't hesitate to throw your two cents in; participation really enhances the experience.
Know just what you mean about flying; my hours dropped to near zero when the baby arrived. He's 5 now and I'm still not current...
