Hello, hope that everyone is doing all right!
I have been lurking for a while, more actively so over the past few weeks. See, I have been toying with the idea of picking up a soldering iron to build myself a Tubelab SSE amp - I caught the audiophile bug about two years ago, had a modest records collection already, but the hobby really intensified during the pandemic. Presently, I really want to try that SET tube sound, and on the budget too.
I have to be be frank however - after wrestling with this idea of getting into DIY I decided against it and am joining now primarily with a view of asking someone to build an SSE for me (for a fee of course). Let me explain. It's not that I'm lazy, it's not that I have two left hands - actually, I think I could do it: did some soldering with my dad back when I was a kid (although was never quite good at it), did a lot of woodwork, and even some metalwork at school. Thing is, I've been trying and comparing gear like mad, building my end-game system, and I want to slow down, not to intensify. And I know for a fact that should I get into the DIY game, I will not stop with building just one amp - it's addictive like that for me. So I'd rather let someone have my money, get a finished device, hook it up, and try to stop and just enjoy the music. I hope this is fine and I am not breaking any forum rules with this.
This being said, I will try to contribute wherever I can.
Thank you for having me.
