Hello!

live from the country without a real government 🙂

My name is Bert, I'm a 21 year old student. I study sound engineer at a film school (the RITS) in brussels. I am a longtime unregistered lurker here, and finally made the step and registered myself.

I got in the audio hobby when I was 15, and bought myself a secondhand Mcintosh when I was 17 🙂, add a set of Thiel CS2.3's (also secondhand), in the mix 2 years later, and here I am now 🙂

I am really interested in building things. Continually growing from making a simple break out box, and now "investigating" in building more complex circuits. I also restorate vintage electronics, my last project was (and is), a Yamaha CR-2020 receiver. I got it to work now, and already did the service bulletins, and reworked the entire amp stages. I am planning on recapping the enire thing, and cleaning her up real nice... 🙂

apart from that, I also build turntables, starting from a lenco, till there's not much left of it 🙂.

recently I finished building my own compound table, for some more precise routing and drilling, from then off, I have had some wild plans to build my first tonearm(s) real soon, as well as various other things 🙂

Some might know me from Audiokarma and lencoheaven. I am also on audioreview, but I'm not frequenting there anymore...

Anyhow,

Hi. 🙂

Keep them spinning,
Bert.

I know they're around, but I'll never say no to more. If you'd have any idea how hard it is to meet someone with these interests 😀? Luckily I'm having more luck in college, still it'd be great to finally get the right amount of people to organise a meet here.

Welcome, Bert..
You'll find lots of fun stuff here!

Spent a good part of my teen years in Brussels, IMHO probably one of the best cities on the planet to grow up in.. (Graduated from ISB there) Are there still lots of electronics shops near Place Annessens? Hobbyist heaven back in those long ago days.. 😀
