I've been chatting with Adam at Madisound, the continued weakness of the USD has had the expected effect -- prices of Fostex are going up.
The prices on the Madisound website will be going up on Monday, any orders before them of in-stock drivers will be at the current (soon to be old) pricing.
I'm told there are 127, 166, 206 (and not many of those) and probably some of the drivers that get less attention. No 126, 167 or 207.

I only have a price list for OEMs, not retail... but the couple drivers i looked at indicated that the percentage is not uniform, but on a driver-to-driver basis.
Also if an unsubstantiated piece of info i got from an Oz forum is correct we could see some slight changes in some of the drivers (a slightly different whizzer on the FE167 was the mention in this particular case). If that is true, lon i'll have the mate for your single.

Hopefully they don't go up too much.
Price increase + recession + collapsing currencies = economic suicide.
Hey Dave, maybe we can apply for some bailout money?
Cheers!

My prices (on regular stocking drivers -- FE126eN/FE126eN/FF85KeN) will hold for some time -- before i started this thread i stocked up at the old price,

And our AUD is weaker still! 🙁
And I, for one, prefer not to think of the state of the UK £ these days. We're going to be paying the penalty for this idiocy for many, many years. The responsible parties should suffer for this.

Crikey! 😱
It wasn't that long ago when the GBP was $2.50 CAD. As of this post, it's a $1.68?

Yup. And as of this post, £1 = $1.36US, which is almost as bad. A couple of months back, it was just over $2US. 😱
Does anyone know if it is more cost effective to order from there or from solen when you factor in conversion/border fees?

I haven't checked Solen prices recently, i have been buying from madisound as they are less expensive... have them sent by mail and border fees are $5... you have to pay GST anyway.
Unfortunately USPS no longer does surface mail to Canada.

Thank you for the heads up Dave!
I looked at Solen prices, and they were $90 for a Fostex fe166 driver. If Madisound matches that price, then the price for two drivers would end up being $50 more expensive then they currently are ($65 per driver). With a deadline of sorts, it helped me make up my mind between fe167 or fe166 drivers. I went with the fe166, and am excited to build a pair of Austin 166s for them 🙂

Well, keep it in mind. I figured there'd be a price rise after all this time.
Funny thing is they just sent a catalog dated July to me 2 days ago.
I might as well recycle that one and the other duplicates they sent me as a result of my order.
The hole cutting setup for the 167e MLTL is just about ready to go.
The build will take a while to get through. Today I was retrofitting one of my BIB's with t-nuts. Other one tomorrow.
Captain Cave Man!
Well,
If you ask me, I think that the Fostex drivers are still a darned good deal at their new prices.
Having played around with some uber mega expensive drivers at Feastrex, and knowing what makes them cost what they do, which I still feel can easily be worth it, I still return to the notion of making less expensive speakers with glee. The people who buy less expensive speakers are no less music appreciators. They just desire the quality stuff that the majority of our full range community builds.
To me it is a simple matter of quality - you either got it or not - whatever the price.
The real economy lasts because there are still enough people out there that consider quality enough of a necessity. Otherwise, our lives get mighty short sighted - and short lived.
I guess that at heart I consider all this mess to be a correction - a deep one, but nevertheless.
I feel that there are still enough of us out doing the hard work in our small businesses to make things "happen" no matter the circumstances.
As a promotional offer, BTW, the prices for my Fostex based product will stay the same for at least the near future despite the driver price increase. The Oniyanma, on the other hand, I am still waiting for the updated Feastrex prices to be announced.
Stay tuned, Ill be posting the beginnings of my "cave man" full range project - (everything built with absolutely rudimentary materials and tools). It should be instructions we can write in stone for those deep dark days which might lie ahead for the future generations who don't get to grow up with such modern conviniences like shampoo. JK. I read too much sci fi...
Cheers, we'll get through this,

All the more reason for Canucks to purchase from Planet10 🙂
Clark, my thoughts pretty-much echo yours regarding the the current state of affairs.
Scott, yep the GBP is in a significantly worse state than the AUD, but not by a hell of a lot.
Gotta run - the Phillip Glass doco-film is starting on our good ole ABC.
Check ya.

True!
I checked the prices today at Madisound and they looked the same as always.
