hello
i am searching for a solution to build an 8 Channel DIY DAC. So i was searching on USB DACs, but i only found 2 Channel ICs (for example the PCM2704). Another Idea is hdmi, but i don´t know how it works with encryption and DAC. Is this possible without decoders?
Thank you for Ideas and help 🙂

Another simple option is using a PCI multichannel card with I2S pins (any Envy24), and taking I2S via LVDS . Or hacking the TGLink of SndScape which is presumably 8 channels of multiplexed I2S via Cat5 cable. The SndScape Odeum is inexpensive, supported by all major OSes, based on Envy24.
Hi,
first thanks for the answer. But i hope to find a Idea, to build the DAC with Standards and don´t do anything on the hardware inside the PC.
