List both of the products by numbers. We can not go by just that. You have to list exactly what you intend. But remember if it is a pulse start, you have to use a pulse start and vise versa. I could be wrong, but I think most e ballasts are pulse start now a days.

Sorry, the eballast is LKEB-400MHD and I am simply looking for another lamp that could be use with this ballast (other than the Ushio S400DD).
Is the new one (T15 pulse start) selling at LL website a MH lamp or is it another HPS retrofit?

Looks like any thing that will work with a HPS ballast will work, from what I can tell, not the normal metal halide bulbs. What's up, why don't you want to use the ushio bulbs. I really like mine as far as color. I wish it came in 1000 watts with 5200k, and size as well. They are pretty small. That color is the most perfect I have found.

I do like it too, but just wanna see what other options I have with the ballast, I want to be able to switch to another bulb when they are on back order or when they stop producing them.
What ballast are you using? magnetic or electronics?

I have a magnetic. I took out my ushio for now, and have it sitting in a room. I am using the 875w 4000k bulb right now, and think I will use the ushio for a 7" lilliput some day. I eventually will go to the 1200w small arc bulb I am guessing for this projector, but depends on what the lux meter tells me.

The contrast actually increases as brightness goes up, until you hit a point. then it starts decreasing. If you aren't utilizing the full light amount the lcd handles, there is less of a contrast from white to black. But when you get to the point where black is starting to become gray, it the contrast has maxed. It becomes washed out looking. hope you follow. I am no where near the maxed out amount yet, I feel. I think I can use the 1200w with no problem. Only the heat will become an issue at that point. But right now, I am getting a good light output, and good contrast. Now part of my problem is the lcd itself. I have a mirror type finish on the side of the light. I believe it is helping keep the lcd cooler, maybe some sort of cold mirror. But for now I don't want to remove it. It may be holding light back, and not helping cool. i don't know for sure, but don't want to ruin this lcd to find out. The ushio worked great and great color, but just wasn't bright enough for me. The 875w gave me a lot more brightness. So to each their own.
