Hammond vs. Marshall Transformers

I'm building a near copy of a Marshall JCM800 2203 (100W).
But I don' t want to spend the money to get a Genuine Marshall Power Transformer.

How can I determine which, if any, of the Hammond transformers will drop into the circuit without having to make modifications?

Also, does the Power transformer have much effect on sound, appart from sag?

Most replacement parts are a bit of a ripoff.

Do you have a schematic of what you are building? That will help us determine a match, if any.

How much does the Marshall transformer cost?

With an amp like the one you are building, I wouldn't expect any noticeable sound difference provided the transformers have the same ratings.

The Marshall replacements are:
HollandAmps = $147.
Angela.com = $155.

The Hammond 273BX from AntiqueElectronics = $58.
(I read at a site that was out of stock that the 273BX can be used for "British amps including Fender and Marshall")
That seemed a bit vague to me.
