This is probably old news, but I just noticed Hammond updated their 200 series power TX's to include a 125v primary tap, in addition to the usual 115v primary.
I've been talking trash about them a bit lately because my power TX runs so hot(over voltage). So, I feel obligated to mention this change for the better.

That's a good move on their part. Slightly off topic, but I've still got a 374BX in my Simple SE. I've got it up in the bedroom, and use it regularly. I couldn't be happier with the 374BX. It's one of the quietest power transformers I own.
That's good to know. However, ever since the 300 series came out I have not touched another 200 series. Like you, I pretty much thought the 200 series was junk. Over heating and lots of buzzing. If using Hammond power transformers, the 300 series is still the way to go in my book. I avoid the whole mess by having most of my power transformers made for me.
