The speakers look great.
I think that a baffle step correction (commonly abbreviated BSC) filter will solve your problem. You probably need 3 to 4 dB of attenuation. There is an Excel based calculator on my site, under the General Speaker Related Articles link, that will help you size the components.

thanks for the help but is there any thing else i can do to the speakers first before i go this rought
I doubt it. The problem you describe is a classic baffle step response. The most effective way to cure it is with a filter. Try it, it is adjustable and you can easily remove it if you are not satisfied.
If you can find Paul Joppa's article on line level BSC, you'll certainly save yourself a little money and efficiency.
I can't seem to find it though. I know he mentions it on the bottlehead site though.
edit: ESP also has a line level BSC. Don't know how well it works though.
