Hello,
I just bought used OB speakers. I dont have much listening space. Woofer is 15 inch, box in which it is fastened is 58 cm long (both sides open naturally). Is it possible to shorten it on both sides? Is there a formula to calculate minimal length?
Woofer sits in the middle.
Thanks, Gorazd

You can read here for theory back round. https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct...H_Frames.pdf&usg=AOvVaw3E6Nc2z5c1dg6yeev2spt_
25 cm per side is the depth to push the resonance peak just above 200Hz which is the typical XO point for a 15" woofer. Reducing this depth will push the peak even higher at the expense of low frequency loss. Perhaps you will need adjustments to the XO too.
