there's a perfectly working 12inch LCD monitor (topvision brand, 800x600 res) about to sell at auction here in New Zealand for a mere $45 (~USD$22) only thing "wrong" with it? backlight is stuffed. PERFECT candidate for a diy projector me thinks!

how often do offers like that come up? never!

sadly, as a poor university student i don't have $45 this week 🙁

Yeah I hate being poor 🙁

Lucky for me I have the best persuasion technique ever when it comes to borrowing money 😎

Just ask your friends or something. And if they don't want to borrow you money, ask your mom or dad or whatever relative you feel will give in. Don't give up!!

Sounds good, if not the most obvious. Do your parents and friends not get sick and tired of giving you money?

Well no, I only do it when I actually REALLY REALLY need them like this awesome deal IR found. And the best part is, everyone knows I'm trustworthy, because I always remember to pay them back. And as soon as I get new money THEY are the ones to get there money back, before anything else.

You need to earn your trust, it's as easy as that 🙂

trouble with borrowing the money is i only found the auction 5 minutes boefore it closed

ah well. there might be other people who'd rather get rid of a monitor instead of having it fixed - especially after the warranty expires, could cost a lot to have serviced
