GU50 compared with EL84

Hi, just wondering if people had thoughts between using a GU50 verses using an EL84? Most likely in Triode mode, but both as a SE and PP arrangement. I have the Decware Zen SE84 which is very nice, but a little low on power on 93dB speakers. Is the GU50 a better sounding tube? And also is the screen limitation of 250V really an issue when running higher voltages?

The GU50 is a transmitter tube with a 40watt plate, vs 12 for the EL84. The spec sheets I've seen suggest a max of 400V for a triode strapped GU50, running at about 80 mA. I can't comment on how good it sounds, but you would get more power.
