Anywhere. My intagrated chip amp that I posted pics of a couple months ago ened up having a bad cap. I have hunted high and low, but I cant find one. I can get 1000uf all day, but 1500 is like looking for the golden goose. Is this not a common value? Theres 1 parts store in town but they are never open. Should I just pull the remaining 3 1500's and replace them with 1000's, or up them to 1 3300 per channel since there are 2 1500's per channel ?

Depends where they are located in the circuit.
Strange, 1500µF caps are easily obtainable here since it is a common value.
Did you try Digikey? Or Farnell?

Maybe someone near you is friendly enough to send you one?JCoffey said:Ya, I can order them from Digikey, but for just a cap?
I'd be willing to do it, I have plenty of them, but sending one to the States? Hmmm...would be costly. 😀

if they are both directly contected in parallel, then i don't see why you couldn't just replace the four of them with two 3300uF
No I dont have a schematic, although I wish I did. I was hoping that someone looking at it could tell me if it's paralell. I'll have to look close at the traces on the board. I have a stupid question. I have 2 Solen 400v 3.3 uf caps. Could these be used? I know they're different types, but would it work, or am I an idiot?

they'd work in the sense they won't 'pop' from being fed too much voltage, but they'll be no good at all as far as power smoothing etc is concerned tho so don't even try them.
Jcoffey I have ONE new philips 1500uf 35v cap sitting here
