I joined a few months back but didn't get around to introducing myself or adding to my profile until now. I wrote the following with intentions of placing it in the "bio" section of the profile but just realized that is for "a few words". So, thought I'd share it here....
Spent most of my life in Dallas. Escaped to country living in 2007 and haven't looked back. I got sick of the traffic, crime, and the breakneck pace of city living. I still have business in Dallas so I return to the concrete jungle as required.
My interest in diyaudio was inspired by lucking into a pair of Klipschorns at an estates sale. I’ve owned them for many years but have never driven them with a quality amp. I’m probably a good six months to a year out before I will have a chance to purchase and/or build my first tube amp but I’ve started reading up on the subject.
I’m definitely a newbie when it comes to electronics but I have a lifetime in residential building maintenance, remodel, and repair. I’m also a longtime hobbyist in auto and motorcycle repair/restoration. –Mainly with 1960’s Mustang’s and Harley Davidson’s.
