Greetings to all. Have had a look around this forum and have to say that this has been a truly humbling experience! Feel a little like Plato's Socrates, in that at least now I am aware that I know nothing, whereas previously I was misguided in that matter too!
On the audio front, I had the crazy notion of putting together a compact, i.e. portable sound system, for using at "Soul Nights", small, soul music specialist evenings, where despite the shared love of rare music from a bygone era, this precious (and expensive!) vinyl, gets played through truly God-awful sound systems. So it sounds comprehensively worse than when played at home!😕
Will need to be able to create decent, danceable sound levels for between 50-100 people, but huge amounts of bass not really required. Looking for good, clear vocal/midrange and accuracy rather than quantity in the bass department! In other words, I'm after the sound of a decent Hi-fi, but louder and more rugged/portable.
Already have some Pro equipment, but would like to have a go at making some good mid-tops myself, and looking for ideas as to what I should build/ power them with etc. Can spend up to a £1500, and already have some pro-drivers, power amps etc, but will buy new if needed.
Have the idea that 2 x 10inch + 1inch comp' driver might be the way to go, but open to all help and experience tendered...
Thanks for reading my drivel, if you got this far, and please if you have any knowledge and/or experience to share here, don't hesitate to preach at me!😎

Welcome to the forum! You'll find lots of good ideas and help here, and a good dose of crazy ideas, too. 😉
I think you should post your project and questions in the Multi-Way speaker forum. That's the place to start.
