I must confess I originally joined just to get my hands on a schematic for the Marshall AVT20 (just bought one with a silent reverb), but having looked around this seems like a fun place for a nerd like me to while away the hours!
I built my first DIY distortion pedal in 1979 in my 'gap' year before uni, then built a ss guitar amp based around a couple of modules, then a 4-stage phaser...
I tend to build stuff as the need arises (e.g. 6-channel buffered MIDI switcher!) so my attempts are a bit sporadic. I also end up being asked to diagnose and/or fix stuff for friends. With the benefit of the interweb and a similarly inclined friend, I can usually sort things out.
I get the impression that I may end up doing more asking than advising on this forum but hey, every day's a school day!
😉

Greetings and welcome. Many nerds here. Many.
There was a Pigtown area where I grew up (Baltimore), but I'm guessing you're in a different one?

Pigtown UK is actually Swindon. The town's name comes from 'Swine Down', a reference to the keeping of pigs on low hilly country. So now you know!
Thanks for the cultural education! I have a junkpile mind, so this is the sort of useless thing I usually remember.

You would barely recognise it! I have lived here 21 years and so much has changed - I reckon the population has gone up 35% in that time.
