Hello all!
I posted about these a while ago. I plugged them into my Quad and had a listen (without an enclosure.) I don't think I've ever heard such a beautifully agile speaker, they make my PMCs sound slow! Unfortunately, what with my massive LEAKs I just don't have room for another 200L speaker, which seems to be what they require, so I'm going to have to part with them.
I've been told they're quite valuable, but I was wondering what kind of price I should put on them considering the condition? It seems the damp has corroded them in places, although the cones are perfect.
I also have the original wooden hat boxes and black bags.
All the best,
BlindMelon7

Maybe you could stand in the line at a session of the Antiques Road Show and see if a valuer can estimate the true worth of the Axiom 80. Otherwise wait for someone on this forum to make an offer or take a risk and see what transpires on eBay . At least you are in possession of valuable property. In 1964 they sold for 17 Pounds and 10 Shillings, plus a purchase tax of 2 Pounds,16 Shillings and threepence.Nothing like it is made today; too many parts and too much assembly labour involved for it to be a feasible proposition.

Cheers VaNarn. I see your point, in a way they're priceless. I couldn't put a value on my LEAKs, they sound better than any other speaker I've heard and use proprietary tech that just wouldn't exist today due to budget/time constraints.
Well, I'm open to offers. I'd rather they went to someone on here and actually got used (and who'll maybe let me have a listen 😀)
