still shaking?
I live in the south peninsula part of the SF bay area, about 100km away from the epicenter. There was a big enough jolt to wake me at 3:30am followed by a bit of rocking but it quieted down reasonably quickly. No damage here as far as I can tell.

South SF Bay Area here; felt a one-cycle "sinewave" motion at 3:23 local time. The Loma Prieta (1989) quake felt more like a series of "impulses" with quite loud bangs and creaks from the walls and ceiling. No noise at all this morning.

Not very nice. Ruined some lives I'm sure. Hope for a good aftermath... kids look happy and life goes on as usual, after the first couple of days.
