Is anyone aware of good/inexpensive neodymium tweeters besides The Usual Suspects from Dayton?
I was thinking about taking another crack at a CBT or line array, and all of my sims indicate that you basically need a tweeter. (Please don't let this devolved into a discussion about why I don't need a tweeter lol)
Since a line array requires a LOT of tweeters, I'm looking for something, well, "good and inexpensive."
Another option I'm considering, is adding a metamaterial back chamber to each tweeter. A la the Kef speakers.
So if the housing is plastic, that's a bonus, I can saw the back off, similar to what I did with the SB Acoustics SB26.

have no idea of quality but remembered seeing them on the eminence site.

The BC25SC06-04 is on sale at PE for $10.99. I have no idea if the waveguide rules it out for a line array, I just happened to be looking at it yesterday.
the Vifa in the second post Zaph measured and assumed to be good is so-so in real life according some.
This one if the deeper layout is not a problem is better, some remove the FF for even better result.... https://hificompass.com/en/speakers/measurements/peerless/peerless-dx20bf00-04 . I use it in a monitor 3 ways Harbeth look above a 3" around 3k hz... it is ok to my dificult ears !
The Monacor has more efficienty if needed and ok above 2.5/3 k hz 18 to 24 dB.

Note that array's tend to "lift" the response on the low-end of the tweeters, and do so increasingly with the line length.. (..so maybe not that much for two of the slims stacked, but 6 or more of them stacked should increase the low-end of the drivers a fair bit - maybe enough at some length to result in an almost flat response between 2-12 kHz without correction.)Thank you Scott! Just ordered two. Let's see what I can do with these.
How about this tiny one? https://hificompass.com/en/speakers/measurements/sbacoustics/sb-acoustics-sb14st-c000-4

Patrick, could i trouble you if you could link the thread where you modify the SB26 back?
I remember you played around with 3d printing some metamaterial cubes, but cant find the thread anymore.
I've been eyeing the ceramic SB26 for a potential diy thing..
What about these tweeters? They would require custom mounting but you could potentially gain better c-t-c spacing.
Custom mounting is basically ideal, for a line array. Sure, you'll need to 3D print the baffle, but center-to-center spacing is always the limiting factor in line arrays.
