O help!! I'm trying to repair a Rotel multichannel power amp and trying to find suitable equivalent replacement parts is driving me nuts. Can anyone help guide me through the maze of specs to get the right parts please?
I'm not an electronics engineer. I just want to get my amp working again.

It would be brilliant if someone could point me towards a supplier and just say what I need for each product if the originals aren't available.
Many thanks in anticipation

Transistors:
I'm not looking to upgrade or tweak the performance on the transistors. In fact I'm looking for either the exact replacement or an equivalent of the same performance. It's only one channel out of 5 that is dead, so ideally I want to avoid making any power or sonic change
Sanken A1492 and C3856 - body shape 63Y / TO3P
Sanken A1667 and A4382 - body shape 63O / FM20 / (TO220F??)

The big caps are all bulging. I understand that the spec on these can be improved without the need then to compensate by changing other parts elsewhere in the amp. If that's the case then I'd look at buying better as long as the component price isn't outrageously more. Some advice on this would be more than welcome.
Jamicon 63V 10,000 mic & 63V 15,000 mic - Large can, snap in terminal, 85 degrees, LP, general purpose, 2000hrs.
Suppliers: My location is Cheshire, UK. I normally buy parts mail order from either RS Components or CPC Farnell. I've had a look at both suppliers and neither has all of the originals in stock. I'm out of my depth when trying to compare specs across different brands to make the correct alternative choices. I really need some guidance from those in the know. 2SA1492 I haven't dealt with these people.
2SC3856 As above.
2SC3856 I purchased 50 Mosfets off of these people recently. Genuine items & next day delivery 😉
I think you get the idea, if you have ebay access just type what you want into ebay search, including the capacitors 😀 Sorry if you don't as it'd be a waste of time 🙄
I did try looking on the Profusion website but none of what you wanted is available.

I can provide the 10,000uF 63V caps (Nichicon) for £2.80 each, also am about to do an order from one of the big suppliers so could bag you a set of Sanken 2SA1294/2SC3263 or 2SA1386/2SC3519 (all TO3P) and we can look into replacements for the TO220 parts, for a small contribution to the handling charge. They are genuine Sanken as I have purchased them before.
I gave some details on the other thread, you could purchase 2SA1386/2SC3519 and 2sa1668/4382 as replacements from Profusion in the UK, they are in southend on sea I believe, If you going to recap use the original supplied caps, youre going to be dissapointed if you use anything less, they are from BHC and called slit foils, manufactured in the UK, Rotel only label them with their own name. Although they cost around 12 pounds and much more than the nichicons richieboy suggests they are much better. There is a distributor in the UK for them but I cant remember for now who they are, because of my location I get them from Schuro in Germany.
homemodder, thanks for your reply here and in the other thread. Looks like I'll need to do some more testing to make sure I find all the blown components. Oh what a joy. I'v just had a look at Profusion, thanks for the heads up. I can see the 10,000uF caps but nothing bigger. What do you reckon about the 15,000uF caps?
richie00boy, once I have my head around what else is bust then I'll be back in touch about getting some transistors.
Gonna get some sleep now. 🙂

He said he had Jamicon caps, only the Rotel hifi amps have their own caps in. The Nichicon are better than Jamicon 😉
How many channels is the amp? If 4 channels then it may be cheaper to use my supplier, if 6 channels or more, or you want some spares for future projects etc then it would be cheaper to buy the transistors from Profusion even though you have to order 10 minimum.

The amp is a 5-channel AV power amp. The model is RB985 MK1. It does indeed have Jamicon caps. If you all agree that Nichicon are as good/better than the Jamicons then they'll do...but I will need some 15000uF 63V caps as well as the 10,000uF ones. 🙂
It looks like 'snap in' was a red herring. My apologies for that. What I appear to have is 2 wire pins. Here's pictures...
I've had a look on RS Components web site. This is what I've found.

Can anyone say if this will be a suitable replacement? Thanks
An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

You could use 10000uf caps, I would recommend the slit foils or try the Nichicons richieboy has, personally I would go for the 22 000uf slit foils but this all depends whether they will fit, youll have to look at the space you have.
