I have an ah! that was working just fine until I decided to add a new clock. After getting it wired in I have either a "no disc" error showing or more often than not a "disc not finalized" error reading.😱 Any ideas if I might have done this or if it might be something else, and what I can do?
Thanks,
Mark

Hi,
If your clock installation is correct ie. all connections went to the right places and if you have pulled the laser flexibe cable to access the pcb ,check the cable is inserted in the right orientation as pin contacts are facing one way only so is it the right side up.What about the other end? Singa.

Thanks Singa,
I checked the flex cable and it looks OK.
I have tried other disc's and there are times when it will read the number of tracks and total time on disc. But when I press play nothing. Also the laser moves up and down while trying to read disc, and the disc does turn though it does not get full speed. It seems as though it gets going then stalls, then gets going and stalls. Continues doing this until I either get the error or it reads the disc. Not sure is this normal? Also I have removed the clamp and was able to see red light coming out of laser.
Thanks,
Mark
