I recently picked up 20 tubes labeled 6pi14pi-eb online for a very reasonable price. I haven't plugged them into anything yet. They look quite a bit different than 6p14p-ev that I've had in the past and I just want to confirm that they are legit.
Specifically, the black (not silver mirror) getter and black markings make me wonder if they aren't just late normal 6p14p relabeled as the EB version.
Any thoughts? Are these legitimate and good quality - long life tubes? Thanks!

Visual Checking of 6П14П-ЕВ starts with looking at the Mica. The top and bottom Micas are doubled-up in the vibration-resistant grades: « B » or « EB ». That is easy to see. I just now verified this observation on a 1985 date-coded 6П14П-ЕВ sample.
Your photo looks like single-mica, but I can't see for certain. View the valve from different angles to look for two separate layers.
The markings were variable in later years, and I have certainly seen that typeface on Reflektor-made samples.

Like Rod say, 6P14P-EBhave double mica, an the shape of the getter is like this.

To me, that tubes are simple 6P14P.

Amazing that we've gotten to the point where unscrupulous sellers are counterfeiting USSR tubes. That's ridiculous. But I suppose it was inevitable. Thanks for the info!
No doubt they are perfectly usable though; you did say they were inexpensive. Do you need high vibration tolerance?
Were they in individual boxes? If so look at the age of the cardboard and rusty staples! The staples always seem to be rusty and the spec sheet is brown with age.
anatech: I'm not sure what an authorised dealer of vintage tubes is.
piano3: I'm not sure. Likely they will work. They were $6 or $8 per valve. I think plate voltage max is different between the high-spec and normal tubes. Only one way to find out....
mpaudio: They were bulk packed, in a makeshift cardboard holder, with wadded up newspaper as damping material.
Who knows where the fault lies... maybe with the original factory, maybe with some aftermarket unscrupulous entity. My loss. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.

Military quality control #25 means if it was wrong the tester can go to GULAG.
A number in a diamond means military control that is not an ordinary OTK.

Hi astrojet,
Anatoliy would probably be the best person to answer that question. I would like to get familiar with those tube types as well, but have no idea who or where to buy them from.
New Sensor would be my first guess as a vendor for these. The Sovtek line is Russian tube types marked with the closest North American type numbers. So aside from asking Anatoliy directly (hint), I would place a call to New Sensor to see if they are carrying those tubes yet.

Tubes seems genuine, but mfg year gives questions. After 1990 (and especially 91-92 years) dont have build quality of <80s.
