I used to build kits at high school, recently made my first one in fifteen years. Been upgrading my hifi system lately, and I'm looking at DAC kits, in particulary the Hawk Audio MP DAC (http://www.audio.nl/indexeng.html). I have on loan a Rega IO DAC, second hand, but still thinking of a kit. Wondering if anyone has any experience with DAC kits? My CD player is an Orelle (an obscure English brand with digital out via RCA). Buying a kit is a leap of faith; there are not many reviews. The fun factor is there, though.
