Hi Everyone,

Let me say this first: This site is truly amazing !!!!!!

Ive been a member for a while but have never posted an Intro.

Ive got a Degree in Electrical Engineering and have been a tinkerer from the age of 14. Ive been out of DIY for about the last 12 years but over the last year ive caught the bug again.

Ive inherited a "collect things" gene form my father and these include collecting First and Second Generation CD players, and my latest obsession is collecting and restoring Ghetto Blasters (the opposite of HIFI).

I feel that Im extremely lucky because I have a good size workshop and my own music room - filled with all my DIY and Audio stuff. This means that stuff that I have doesnt have to pass the WAF test!(read BIG speakers). My DIY aim is to build a system that will blow my mind sonicly. One of the main ways that I relax after a hard day at work is to sit in my music room and listen to some of my favourite music. I was never able to do this ( 3 kids and a wife!)until I built my music room.

The appearance (as well as Performance) of DIY hifi is very important to me and hopefully some of my previous projects shows this.



I intend to post picks of some of my DIY projects, so please keep an eye out for them!

I'm sure you'll find plenty of useful stuff and answers here...

As for your theory on drinking, it should be interesting to find out, as long as we don't use the airline pilot as test object. 🙄

Pictures are always welcome here, but remember to scale them down in size (100k ???) or you won't be allowed to show them.

Pictures are always welcome here, but remember to scale them down in size (100k ???) or you won't be allowed to show them.

If you are posting a drawing or a non-image screen capture, use a GIF or even better a PNG file. They are *way* smaller than a JPG and not blurry at transitions either. 🙂
