can a gainclone amplifier be made with the lm3876T as opposed to the 3875?. also what about a 3886? thanks alot.

Of course they can. The LM3876 is like the LM3875 but with mute (but who would want that?) and the LM3886 is just like the LM3876 (has mute) but higher power. The only thing is, most people prefer the sound of the non-mute chips (LM3875 and LM1875), or so I've heard. But it can't hurt to try for yourself.

Nope, different pinouts. If you go to use one, I'd reccomend checking out the datasheets first though 😉.
i checked the data sheets, tahnks. i guess i'll just get some 3875s to make my life easier (*copy* others)
