I have a few questions about this chip amp. How much VAC trafo would you recommend to power up LM3875 Gainclone (i will be using 8ohm speakers). Other questions is about speakers, i was thinking about bookshelfs could u recomend anything suitable under 400$. For example what do you think about those Klipsch B-20 2013 - TopTenREVIEWS

LM3875 is best with transformers of ~22v+22v. A few volts in either direction is fine.
About 200VA for peak output.
The chip is able to use a wide range of PSU voltage.

I have a quad of LM3875 that I bought in swap meet and I want to build a gainclone. on ebay they sell these boards that seem to be tried and true but it just says that you need a bipolar power supply between +-24 to +-42 voltsm the problem is that I cant find any kit or ready made or even PCB only power supplies with this kind of output voltage. some direction will be appreciated.

also is there a way to tell if my chips are genuine or not? I would like to test before embarking on a build.
If you want to do this at a reasonable price you will need to build your own power supply.
This is not complex - a transformer, fuse, bridge rectifier and a couple of capacitors.
I get the impression you are not a very experienced DIYer.
- this is mains voltage
- get some help, it is not complex but don't hurt yourself or others.
The transformer, 160VA or more, 2 secondary windings. of 18 to 28 volts
10 to 20 amp bridge rectifier
Panel fuse holder plus a 5 amp fuse for the primary of the transformer.
Two big caps. Say 8200uf at 50V or more each.
Done.
Don't fret the fakes. If they are you can buy new ones cheap.

yes I am not very experienced. at the very least I need a PCB with instructions and a BOM. will this do? PS-6 Power Supply PCB and Kit

Post a picture of those chips so other members could see them , but the ones I sold to you are 100% authentic .
Dadbeh...
No. This: PS-6 Power Supply PCB and Kit
Is really made for valve amplifiers.
You need something like this: 10000uF/50V Capacitor Rectifier Power Supply Board For LM3886 TDA7294 Amplifier 4610256254018 | eBay
Search EBAY for "Power Supply LM3886" and you will find heaps.
You will STILL need a power transformer, of decent size and in the region of 18-28 Volts a rail, fuse and power cord connection.
