Ok, i had an amp which went mad when you fiddled the gain controller.
So i pulled it apart and there was some mad short across the pot in particlar positions. So i replaced the pot with an exact model, but now i get apsolutly no gain control at all, one volume irrespective of dial position.
I assume i have a blown logic gate somewhere, what can i do guys?

If the connection to ground (possibly through a resistor) is open, it could cause this. Clean the flux from the board and examine the solder connections, pads and traces with a lighted magnifying glass to see if there is a break anywhere.
