the Lidra-sg store now ship G12 sockets to US. The price for socket is very reasonable at $6.50, but the shipping is high at $22 for one socket. The shipping is the same for up to 8 sockets, and increases to $30 for orders of 9-16. I would like to setup a group buy so we can get it for ~$10. once it arrives, it can be shipped out by first class mail which is about $1-$1.50 to most place in US.

G12 sockets, bulbs, ballasts
FYI,
I am retrofitting Colortran 50-5 theatre lights for architectual illumination. I am using a Ushio G12 /3801 socket, Phillips CDM150/T6/820, and an Aadvance e-Vision electronic ballast.
The ballast is remote-mount, 120 or 277V and works with the 150W or175W CDM T6 bulbs. The bulb has nearly identical light specs (light center, lumens, etc.)to the HX 601 It is replacing. It also has whiter light, nearly 10X life, and consumes 170W (inc. ballast) vs. 575 W of the HX601.
Hope this helps.
