I have a very nice pair of General Electric "Dual Coaxial Speaker Model A1-401" in excellent condition.
Specs are as follows:
Fs: 43 hz
Qts: .412
Qes: .4731
Qms: 3.19
Le: .0607
Vas: 3.3 cu ft
Sensitivity: ~94dB
I believe both of the drivers are alnico for the tweeter and the woofer. There is a 4uf cap across the tweeter (of surprisingly high quality) signifying a 5khz crossover point (unless the tweeter is 16 ohm, in which case it's a 2500hz crossover. I don't expect the latter scenario.
The sound is surprisingly good. With simple 50s Jazz, acoustic singer song writer type music, and light classical these things simply excel. They have pretty nice bass and great mids, but aren't the last word in extension. If you can live with a speaker that doesn't extend far past 16khz, these will suit the bill. I have compared them head to head with 12TRXBs and Eminence Beta 10CXs. The beta 10s are better, mostly because of a superior crossover. The GEs do have a bass advantage. the 12TRXB is similar, if not a little harsher sounding speaker.
There isn't much info on the internet regarding these drivers, but over the last couple of years, there has been a few pairs on ebay which have sold for 225-300ish range.
