FS: Raven R3 Ribbon Tweeters (2)

I am selling a pair of Raven R3 Ribbon Tweeters in excellent working condition.

These are the "big mommas" of the Raven line. They each weigh approximately one truckload. They are really heavy. Probably 40 or 50 pounds each. The magnets in these are monstrous.

I purchased these years ago as part of a pair of custom speakers that I bought from ORCA. ORCA had built some Star-Trek looking speakers that they displayed at NAMM, and I bought the speakers from ORCA. The speakers were wonderful. The tweeters are every bit the spectacular tweeters that they are advertised to be. But the speakers were also very large (they each had a 22-1/2" Cabasse woofer). When I moved a few years ago, the speakers didn't fit in my new house. So I dismantled them and sold the other parts. I kept the Ravens because I wanted to build something with them that would fit better in my new home. But I just haven't gotten around to the build, and it's a shame to see these great tweeters sitting unused.

So they're up for sale. The current equivalent Raven ribbon tweeters sell for $2150 each. I'm offering this pair for $1500 OBO, plus actual shipping costs. So that's less than 1/2 price for a pair of the current model. I have three replacement ribbons that I will include, in case you accidentally overload them.

Please keep in mind that this is the original model Raven R3; since this model, they have also sold the 3.1, the 3.2, and now the current model. So this is a few generations old. But equally awesome.

I'm located in Orange County, California. If you are too far away to pick them up, I have an excellent local shipping company that I've used before that can package and ship them.

Let me know if you have questions.

Raven R3.0 Details

Hello Dear Friends!
I have Raven R3 tweeters but I have not specification for them!
I need specification for crossovers production!
Please help me with specification for my Raven R3!!!
Kind Regards!

The best way to drive these units is with a dedicated amplifier [1] & [2] power supply designed for this purpose by Emo Borbely. The only passive component to add is a dc blocking capacitor to protect the driver's transformer primary. For the crossover function, DSP is the best implementation strategy.

I have included the specification sheet [3] and a drawing of a typical satellite enclosure [4]. Also note that the driver should have its own backbox to isolate it acoustically from woofer output. WHG
