I am parting out a pair of 15 year old CAR T1 Clones which I made. I did not list the massive box of Jensen xo caps and Mills resistors in the external xo.
The price is $5000 if someone picks these up as I do not want to ship. At some point, I may ship the maple horns and 4001s if no one is interested in taking these from my house.
Components include
2 Original, Made In Japan, TAD TH 4001 maple horns
2 TD 4001 drivers
2 ET-703 tweeters
2-1602 woofers in cabinets
2-external xos packed full of Jensen paper and oil caps, foil inductors, Mills etc.
The main components of value are the maple horns, of course, but my asking price reflects that.
1) The maple horns are in excellent shape and have been sitting on top of the woofer cabinets on a sorbothane pad. Most likely they have a sorbothane residue on the bottom from sitting so long in one place. This should easily be cleaned off. These are the real, genuine made in Japan maple horns.
2) The TD 4001 drivers were purchased used, matched and tested 15 years ago from a pro sound dealer. They have rust in spots on the outside but otherwise are working fine as far as I can tell. Since I bought them, they have seen only indoor domestic use.
3) The ET 703s are working fine BUT I had to glue them into the woofer cabinets using liquid nails. This is a project for someone to remove and use.
4) The 1602 woofers, are, of course, in need of new surrounds.

Yes but the ET703s are glued into the cabinets with liquid nails. It may be possible to remove them, according to the liquid nails website. However, I have a herniated disk and it's a task I'm not willing to perform.
I'm basically wanting to sell the horns for what they are worth and give someone the rest of the speaker system, cash and carry.
thank you

So...I'm really looking for a cash n carry off offer. It's a good opportunity for someone to get into one of these TAD based speakers for a tenth of the cost new.
thanks
