Hello,
I've a Decadac with 7th order LP filter, Elna Silmic II Caps and Sumusu audio resistors in I/V circuit.
Output caps are not installed, the standard ones are provided but you can put the caps you prefer. The dac sounds wonderful. more info :

Is this an oversampled design? If so I am not interested.
Otherwise the stacking of the DACs looks interesting but the steep filter suggests it was oversampled.

The design is NOS - no oversampling. The steep filter is due to the fact that no oversampling is used - the frequency band to be rejected in NOS is very close to the wanted frequencies which calls for a steep slope.
yeah, that confused me as well, the steep filter suggests NOS, not OS, that's kinda the point ...

I use an Audio Note Dac kit and it is NOS. It used a basic single pole filter in it's original configuration but they later changed the design to no filter at all. This DAC is my favorite. I think the ultrasonics that get through are an insignificant issue.

I used to think the same way in my early days of building TDA1543-based DACs (10+ years ago now). But then I got curious to know if filtering those ultrasonics away made any difference. The result I got on a TDA1387-based DAC I documented here : Digital that sounds like analog | What's Best Audio and Video Forum. The Best High End Audio Forum on the planet!
