FS : Aleph 5 - 60W / ch Class A amplifier

I've decided to sell my beloved Aleph 5 power amp since I'm building a Aleph X... I need the space... 😉

Aleph 5 is a 60W /ch Class A amplifier. There's is ample heatsinking and the temperature on the sinks never went over 55 C

Custom made chassis. Has XLR or SE inputs. Silver Teflon wires and silver speaker jacks.

There's a soft startup circuit in place and I believe 186000uF per channel. Two Triad Magnetics 24V 500VA transfos which are 130$ each at Digikey...

It is configured as dual mono.

This is a REALLY heavy chassis... Like 60-70 lbs heavy... So I'm not going to ship it out unless someone is interested to pay lots of shipping... Size of the enclosure is 17" x 21.5" x 8"

It only needs front panel finishing... I was thinking of wood front but right now it is a black anodized 4mm front panel...

Since there seems to be lots of interest, here's the pics! Please keep in mind that my phone camera sucks like hell...! 😉

Here side view with my finger traces all over the place... 🙂

Front view. Here's where you'll have to make a nice hard wood front panel and attach the blue Bulgin switch to it.

I have two fans on top but they are Noctua 140mm fluid bearings (extremely silent). I run them in a push/pull configuration. They have three speeds so you can play with them. This grill on top is not installed. It was just to show but I can give it away. Only have one though...

The Internals! This is where it gets nice!!!

Two Triad Magnetics 24V 500VA. It is currently setup for 120Vac but the transfos can be wired for 220-250Vac....

Bird view. There is a soft start (Necessary with that much capacitance) and a speaker protect circuit. The speaker protect circuit is fully fonctionnal and powered by its own transfo but I'm not using it... I prefer shortest path possible!

Left channel amp.

Independant power supply, each with 186000uF!

Shot of the back. SE, XLR, Speaker out with master switch, AC in and fuse...

The amp is fully functional and sounds amazing!

You just have to install feet, wooden front panel if needed. The chassis ground is not connected but that is quite easy to do. If someone is interested to buy and want me to connect it, I will do it no problem!

Pricing... Well... I never sold any of my finished amps so not too sure about this. I would like 500$ but it is negociable. Make an offer!

Ciao!

Hi I would be interested, what would be the shipping to Europe.
Luxembourg?

I have to weight it but the maximum Canada Post will take is 66lbs. I can probably find another carrier. You can check Purolater, UPS and Fedex as well.

For 66lbs
Canada Post ExpressPost International (the max) = 422$
Canada Post International Parcel Surface (Slow) = 212$

Thanks

Bonjour Dominic,

Merci

It is not a Pass official kit (Did he ever made a Aleph 5 kit? I believe he had F5?)

The boards follow Aleph 5 design and are of very good quality. I bought all components from Mouser, Digikey and Parts Connexion. Resistors are Dale, Mills, CDE Silver Mica, Cap are Panasonic 4 connectors, etc... No crap inside the amp!.

You can bring your speakers and source to my place if you want to listen to it.

So here's the translation!

Sorry for this!
