Would it work to build in a full height deflector between extended depth top and bottom panels? If so, could it be the same overall width as the speaker cabinet? Thanks.
Yes you can make it full height
Reducing the width of the deflector will also reduce the effective mouth area so it won't go quite as low.

Ok, I'l stay with the recommended 10 1/4 width on the deflector as shown on sheet FH3. Sheet FH3 and your photo show the front point of the deflector touching the back of the bottom of the cabinet 15 9/16 from the front. Could I pull the deflector forward into the cabinet against the bottom angled panel in the speaker cabinet 11 3/16 from the front, as I would like to incorporate the deflector into the cabinet by extending the top and bottom panels? So, the overall depth would be 17 13/16. [11 3/16+6 5/8 deflector] I would leave the radiused sides as drawn on FH3. Or,am I messing up the design? Thanks again,Chuck

The deflector does 2 things 1/ reduces reflections back up the horn. 2/ Creates a larger mouth. It needs to be where it is, or you will be restricting the mouth.
