Fried Studio V series crossover

I recently purchased a pair of used Fried Studio V speakers. Both crossovers were damaged in shipping. Since they are first order series crossovers, there aren't a lot of components to worry about even if you include the M.A.R.S. system. Using some (hopefully) intelligent assumptions, I think that I have made the correct repairs. However, I would love to see a schematic to confirm that I did everything right.

If someone out there has a schematic of the Studio V crossovers (or knows where I can get one), please let me know.

Thanks.

I emailed Fried Product and they called me to tell me that they have no information on the Studio V because it was manufactured by a previous (and now out of business) version of the company.

I appreciate their efforts anyway. The personal phone call was above and beyond the call of duty too.

However, I'm right back where I started.

Fried Studio V schematic

This is a very old thread, but in the event that someone else is looking for a schematic and wonders through here: I have a schematic drawn from my Studio Vs with M.A.R.S. This is a very good quality drawing done with a schematic drawing tool and contains all the component values. Contact me here: solo2@k8ac.net .

Usual frustration for people interested in series crossovers here! A BIT SHORT ON DETAIL. 😀

I'll lay it out for you. Bud Fried produced interesting 2-way and 3-way series filters for well behaved drivers, often polycones. I give you a typical schematic of a 3 way which I simmed in Visaton Boxsim based on a Fried XO topology. It's very valve and SET friendly and has excellent phase alignment. 4 ohms is no worse than most 3 ways.

I modelled this one on a flat baffle, but Bud Fried frequently time aligned with sloped baffles and used transmission line loading. Polarity of drivers will of course be affected by time alignment. You get what you get. Bud Fried was a very talented man IMO. 😎
