frecuency level display

is there somebody who knows a way to make a frecuency level display?somebody to tell me a site to help me fo this?i have find a circuit with leds but i want to make a lot of levels to display all frecuency from 20hz to 20khz.

do you want to display the frequency or the voltage at specific frequencies ???

I think you would build a VU meter, (look up a LM3915 IC) and just use a active bandpass in say 15 sets. Similar to an equalizer.
I'm not sure if there is an easier way.

What you really want is an FFT analyser. Use your computer monitor and write or buy a computer program.....
